Living In Balance, is Longfellow’s highly-respected weight-loss and life-style enhancement program. For more than 10 years, Living in Balance has successfully coached over 2,000 people to achieve their goals that have included: weight loss, living a more balanced life, decreasing cholesterol and blood pressure and managing diabetes. Living in Balance director, Jane Polley, M.S., R.D., LDN,, creates a warm and compassionate atmosphere and offers effective strategies for integrating the three major components of successful weight loss, healthy eating choices, consistent and effective exercise, and a positive and optimistic attitude!

Our Living in Balance program features include:

  • Weekly group meetings
  • One private coaching session with Jane
  • A healthy and realistic nutrition plan developed on an individual basis to inspire a lifelong commitment to healthy eating habits. This comprehensive plan will help you to achieve peak performance at work, home and in athletics.
  • A weight loss strategy that will break the cycle of dieting and result in long-term success. We DO NOT sell any nutritional products so the focus is entirely on a well-balanced plan that meets your personal goal.
  • Special presentations on the various aspects of cardiovascular conditioning, weight training, flexibility, and a wide variety of exercise programs available at The Longfellow Clubs.
  • Specific goals program which includes a variety of proven techniques that will help you prioritize your time and manage stress.
  • Visualization exercises, affirmations, and positive reframing techniques to inspire permanent lifestyle changes.
  • Diabetes, cholesterol, hypertension management and prevention.

Program Length & Eligibility

Each program session meets for 13 weeks. Living in Balance is available to both club members and nonmembers. Price is based on the length of the session and membership status. Living in Balance is covered by most insurance plans; check with your provider.

Based on demand, sessions will be held at either Lumina (522 Boston Post Rd., Wayland) or Longfellow Sports Club (203 Oak St., Natick). New sessions begin in September, January, and May. Sign up information is available at club location front desks or from Jane Polley.
