weight-lifterFitness Room Rules

The Longfellow Clubs want all their members to benefit from the rewards of strength and cardio training. Before one starts a program we ask that you read and understand the rules of the fitness room.

1. You must be at least 14 years of age or older to enter the fitness room. You may bring your newborn into the fitness room secured in a car seat until 3 months of age. After your child turns 3 months, please use the nursery.

2. Please provide our fitness instructors with a current completed health history form. Our instructors need this before they can prescribe a program for you. Medical clearance may be needed before starting a program. We can provide you with a medical form for your Doctor to fill out for our instructors.

3. Proper workout attire is required to enter the fitness room. We ask that you wear sneakers and comfortable workout clothing. . Please be courteous to those who have breathing conditions (i.e. asthma) and refrain from wearing cologne or perfume during your workouts.

4. Schedule an appointment with a fitness instructor. Proper training is the key to one's success with a fitness program.

5. We provide towels in the fitness rooms for wiping down machines after you use them. Please be courteous to the next member using the machine and sanitize it after you are done. Return the dirty towel to the appropriate bin so it can be washed after you use it.

6. Be aware that others may want to use the same strength training equipment that you are using. When doing multiple sets allow others to work in with you in between sets.

7. 30-minute time limits have been established on all cardiovascular machines. Please follow this rule especially during peak times.

8. Please leave all jackets and bags in a locker. We don't want you or someone else to trip over an article of clothing left out in the open.

9. Use a spotter and collars when lifting heavy weights. This is for your safety and others around you. If you do not have a lifting partner to help you, ask the instructor on duty, they are there to help.

10. Please refrain from bringing in any food or drink while exercising. Water bottles are allowed.

We want all of our members to enjoy their workouts here at the club. If you ever feel like one of these rules are not being followed by other members, please let us know so that we can address it.
